I ran a google search and I found this page to be very helpful. It's mainly from a leader's perspective however, you guys can accomplish these tasks as well. Check it out:
Yeah I can see a lot of those points are relevant. It will be a lot of work but will be worth it. Maybe it would be worthwhile to think of somekind of business plan to incorporate into the clan. I haven't any good ideas but if I think of a good money making scheme I'll let you in on it.

The only money scheme I can think of is a tournament or contest sponsered by Uprising Soldiers.

Maybe later down the line, say if everyone paid $5 entree fee in a standard deathmatch tournament and 32 people entered that would be $160. The prize could be $60 and the $100 is for clan running costs. If you held on a month, I know it's not a lot of money but it'd help towards running costs such as hosting fees etc.

Actually anywhere between $50 to $100 a month would be a great amount to run this clan. We could host our own website and have servers with that amount of money.

Yeah, we could use the money to build a computer to serve as our server. I'm not really sure how many server slots we could run, but we could ask around a little bit and find out what kind of specs we need for a good server and what it would be capable of.

Well if we could do it that way instead of me building one myself that would be great. Instead of buying a server it would be much cheaper to build one and although there is a big distance inbetween us we can correspond via email etc and I could give advice. I'm currently studying my Comptia A+ and will start Comptia N+ after that. I do have networking experience and although I couldn't afford to fly out to the States to set it all up (Hey I'd love to visit the US!) I can still help from a distance. I think we should really start with a tournament when we have say at least 20 members and hold one a month. You could poll which games to choose for the event and we could pay the entree fee via paypal. Once enough money has been saved up I would advise on building a Tesla SuperComputer as the server. They are immensely powerful but if that is too expensive then I will find cheaper alternatives. We have to do this you know. Any netwoking questions don't hesitate to ask. EDIT: I've just been checking and you can build a brand new server for around $300 whereas a HP server will cost you around $399 (comes with less features). The OS can be expensive though costing around $150 for Windows Server OS. You can get a 120 day free trial of Windows Home server here so when you get round to building it give that a try (120 days will give enough time to save more money from events to buy a server OS). You can get cheap motherboard/CPU/RAM bundles also. I picked one up for £100. Biostar is a good up and coming brand.

Theres always sponsorships, if you agree to advertise for a company on the site they may be willing to pay the costs which to them will be very little

That's a great idea. We can build our own but also have one from a company. We need to get out there and advertise, sure enough we can find a deal.

Should we as a clan come up with a message to e-mail them?
That sounds good.
Heres something I think we should do. Whenever we can we should make a site with more to it than just the forums. A good example is this site: http://www.pixelsmashers.com/
Theres a forum, but they also post news and reviews. I don't know what you guys think, but I really like how I can see the gaming and hardware news, read reviews and use their forums all from one site.

That is a good idea, but I don't have Dreamweaver on my computer. We'd need someone with it to make our website.
